The "Liebster" (Dearest) Award & Friday's Fence #18 Photo Challenge

Leibster in German means "Dearest". Thank you to "in 2 Paints of R Lil Bit of Cash" AND  http://myequestrianworld.blogspot.com/

The rules of the award are as follows:
1. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who gave you the award
3. Pick your five favorite blogs with less than 200 followers, and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have received the award.
4. Hope that the five blogs chosen will keep spreading the love and pass it on to five more blogs!

I will add that if you don't want to follow the above directions, I am not taking the award back.  You deserve it and I understand if it is too much.  BUT it is nice to spread the news of fellow blogs we love, so think about it.  :)

1.  One Friesian Sporthorse, One Percheron & One Donkey
She is an adventurous soul and dotes on her four legged babies AND she has a 1/2 Friesian (like me) and I love seeing her photos and here what is going on at her farm.

2.  Ferngrove Farm
Life in New Zealand with horses.... need I say more.  She has a gorgeous new horse and the weather over there right now is spectacular!

3.  Galloping Mind
A blog in large part (but not always) that is about the place I keep my horse, NOT written by me.  It is a cast of characters, I'll say that!  Always well written and well thought out.

4.  Make Mine a Draft
The newest blog I am following and she is fun and really deserves more followers!

5.  The Blogging Horse
OK... This is a fun blog.  It is usually written in the perspective of her horse (A FREISIAN), Henk.  I am her only follower that has joined her site and I really think that is a shame.  Check this out and see if you don't find it charming!

OK!  If you are not on this list do not pout!  I sweated over each and every decision.  I wanted a list of variety, and I think I did it.  I love all of the blogs I follow and would put you all up here if it was allowed!  :)

Thank you both for awarding me the "Liebster Award!"

Now on to Friday's Fence #18 (click on link to see other's contributions)

Now, of course, the beauty of the horse and tree line and the little yellow flowers are all charming, but I think the fence also helps draw the eye into this photo or perhaps redirect it when the eye wanders a bit.  What do you think?

And don't forget to take a quick look at the blogs above (plus the two that awarded me the Liebster Award.

Sebastian & Oberon.. an update & AMAZING VIDEO at bottom of the post

All has been pretty quiet here.  The weather has been a bit rainy, (but for this born and raised northern gal) I'm loving this winter!  I've been a bit quiet on the blog front lately as we are busy putting our house on the market... interior painting, organizing, purging, upgrades...  We are staying in the area, just desire a different situation.  I miss my frequent trips to the barn but it I will be back in full swing within a week.   (The top photo has been linked to this week's "Creative Exchange")

Sebastian scratched 20% of his cornea and he was sore, poor boy.  The vet gave us some ointment and meds and he seems to be much better yesterday when my daughter and I went out to groom.  I just love his profile - so strong and proud, isn't it?

I can't wait for a warm sunny day for as much as I brush, dust just puffs and clouds off their backs!  My daughters have had a few Saturday lessons, but I do think Oberon is looking a little chubby... or is this just fluff?

"DID SHE JUST CALL ME FAT!!! ?
Does this video put you in the mood for riding?  It is AMAZING!

I have BABY photos of Oberon!!!

I was SO lucky to get these from the lady who used to own him.  A few were sent to me from his breeder.  I look at my boy now with different eyes... I can see his baby face now at times when he does something silly...

The photo below is NOT Oberon.  I'm not sure who it is, I think maybe his brother who is for sale, posted at the bottom of this page.  This is Oberon's mother, though.  I just wanted to share this precious photo...

Oberon (his original name was Buck and then Murphy) as a newborn above and a "teenager" (yearling) below.  I am patiently growing out his mane and am glad to see it will look nice.

And below is his pretty Mama.  Her name is Berry.

And this handsome fellow is his half brother.  The share the same mother.  He is for sale and I can forward his contact information to anyone who is interested.  He lives in Wisconsin.

January Portraits

January 7th and the weather was (is) fantastic!  67 degrees and sunny.  Last year it was colder and NC had a bit of snow, but the fact that this amazing weather is possible... well, it inspired me to take horse portraits of my two gorgeous boys.  I brushed and conditioned Sebastian's mane and tail and he seemed to KNOW it was time to pose.  Oberon, well, I made the mistake of waiting until after my daugher's one hour lesson and he was ready for a nap....  But he is still adorable.

Now I'm off to walk the dogs... It feels like a spring day to this northern gal!

Friday's Fences

I took these photos about three weeks after Sebastian, my half Friesian arrived.  In this photo he is 3'1/2 years old.  He has filled out and grown a bit and is quite fuzzy now.  Oberon and he are best buddies.  This is for Friday's Fences hosted by Bluff Area Daily (also home of "Barn Charm")  I have gotten a LOT of photographic ideas from talented people who like up to these challenges - so take a look.  :)

Dander - White Vinegar?

I wonder what my horse blogging friends think of the video below?  Have any of you tried this?  What do you use?
